PORTSMOUTH, R.I. — The body found in the back of a submerged car Friday just south of the Sakonnet Bridge has been identified as that of Kathryn Cabral, 56, a spokesman for the Rhode Island State Police said Monday.
Capt. James O. Demers said an autopsy was done but investigating are still interviewing people “who may have last seen her.” The department will wait until the interviews are finished sometime this week before issuing a press release, he said.
Kathryn Cabral is listed in the University of Rhode Island staff directory as an instructor in writing and rhetoric.
