An East Providence man has been indicted on charges of operating under the influence (subsequent offense) and operating a motor vehicle to endanger following his ninth drunken-driving arrest last weekend, according to Bristol County (Mass.) District Attorney Sam Sutter.
Vernon Perry, 52, of Roselyn Avenue, pictured at right, was arrested early last Saturday morning on Taunton Ave., Seekonk, after an officer saw him speeding and weaving in and out of the lane of travel, according to the Seekonk police.
A plea of not guilty was entered on Perry’s behalf at his arraignment Monday in Taunton District Court.
As a result of the indictment, Perry will be arraigned in Fall River Superior Court on a date yet to be determined. In the meantime, he will continue to be held without bail, Sutter said in a press release.
